- Usually rotten or shallow posts. We replace the posts and straighten the run where the rest of the fence is sound.
- Broken palings and rails
- Replaced and matched to the existing fence as closely as possible.
- Rotten plinths
- Plinth boards replaced so the palings are off the soil again.
- Gates that drag or won't latch
- Re-hung, re-squared or rebuilt.
- Deck boards and frames
- Loose, split or rotten boards replaced; soft frames checked and repaired.
Repair or replace?
If the posts are sound and most of the timber is good, a repair is usually the better value. If the posts are rotten along the whole run, patching it only delays the job. Jake will tell you straight which one makes sense.

My fence blew over. Who pays?
For a shared boundary fence, the cost of repairs is usually split between neighbours under Victoria's Fences Act 1968. Storm damage may also be covered by home insurance, so check your policy.
Can you fix just one section?
Yes, where the rest of the fence is sound. If it isn't, Jake will tell you before you spend money on a patch.
